What a blessing it is to be a part of an organization with a history of supporting local churches that goes back to 1888!  This spring and summer was an exciting time for the Metro West Builders, as we were presented with an opportunity to step out in faith with the Spirit River Community United Methodist Church in the purchase of land and building for their rapidly growing congregation.  The grand opening worship in the new facility was held on September 11th, with many visitors, including a fawn who was part of the children’s sermon.

This past summer I had a chance to visit in 42 of our member churches to hear your hopes and dreams for your ministry and also to be updated on the challenges you face as you minister in a changing world.  There is vital and creative ministry happening throughout the MetroWest Builder churches, from food shelves and community gardens to chaplain programs and child care.  You share many of the same challenges - many of them having to do with finances and buildings.  The information from these visits were a part of our strategic planning process, begun in the fall of this year and continuing throughout 2012.  We will be exploring new ways of supporting you in your ministry.

Remember, we can do together what no one of us can do alone!
