Metro West Builders Annual Dinner and Celebration
"Sowing Seeds for a New Season"
Sunday, February 19, 2012 - 3:30-6:30 pm
Good Samaritan United Methodist Church
5730 Grove Street, Edina, MN 55436
The Metro West Builders celebration will feature Rev. Dan Johnson,
Director of Congregational Development, and the leaders from some of the
newest congregations in the Minnesota Annual Conference. In a recent
article, Dan wrote, "Do you remember when tweet was a bird's song, and
text was ink on a page, facebook was your family photo album and GPS was
a Good Passenger in the adjacent Seat"? As a conference, we are
constantly trying new ways of reaching new people for Jesus Christ, not
only through traditional congregations, with a building and signs on the
corner, but through churches like STORM Faith Community that is
organizing people to build churches in their own homes. We are reaching
out to diverse populations in Minnesota to offer culturally relevant
ministry to specific demographic groups, such as Korean Evangelical in
Hopkins. We are experimenting with new ways for church to be
multicultural, through new ministries like MOSAIC in Brooklyn Park.
Come and hear a panel of leaders from these and other new church starts
as we explore new ways to experiment boldly to reach persons for Jesus
Christ.
The celebration will begin with a gathering time at 3:30, followed by
the program at 4:00 and the dinner at 5:00. The $12 cost of the buffet
dinner can be paid at the door. To make reservations, please fill in and submit the form below, phone 651-615-6102, or send an email to: pathinker@metrowestbuilders.org. Please include the names of those coming, your e-mail, phone number, and the name of your home church.
